GROUPON DINNER OF THE WEEK - Adam's Falafel House
For me, Sunday's have always been a day for family dinner's.
The memories of the ones of my childhood always conjure up images of roasted chicken, overcooked veg and that sleepy, I ate too much potato feeling.
They've changed somewhat in my adult years and one of the beautiful things about being an adult is that your "family" and concept of what that means changes. It allows you to welcome new people and create new traditions.
A while ago, myself and the besto re-established Sunday as family dinner day with each other. When we lived minutes from each other, dinners would take place in my house with tons of food and usually followed by some kind of guilty pleasure Sunday night viewing like Mr Selfridge.
But now we're on opposite sides of the city, our lives haven't allowed for this to happen as frequently. The city centre makes the most sense to meet up for dinner, but things can get expensive quickly when you're doing it on the regular.
Enter Groupon.
Last week, both of us working on a tight budget, I had the idea of actually reading one of those emails Groupon sends me everyday in search of a good deal. And boy, did I find it - a five course mezze with two soft drinks on Dame Street for 19 euro. Bargain! But would it be any good?
If we were judging on sheer quantity alone, this would've been a winner. Between the dishes and the bread, we couldn't finish everything between the two of us. But it was also all delicious.
The potatoes were probably my least favour of the plates. They were cold (which I don't mind) but the sauce was incredibly spicy and both of us are rather timid when it comes to the heat factor.
The place is very near to The Olympia Theatre and is BYOB, so it would definitely be a solid, alternative choice for some food before a show.
Overall, we were delighted. For the price and the food, it was great. It also meant we ended up going somewhere we had never been before and probably wouldn't had gone to, had we not gotten a deal. Win win!
We enjoyed the experience so much that we've decided that our weekly Sunday dinner's will all now be determined by Groupon - the only criteria is to pick a good deal, in a place we've never been to, and catch up and eat.
Given that I A) love sharing all things food related and B) love sharing info about a bargain, I'm going to do a post each week on where we've gone, what we ate and for how much.
So go give Adam's Falafel House a try (the link to the deal is here) and check out the next Groupon Dinner of the Week soon.

The lamb was lightly spiced with lovely crispy bits throughout and was incredibly moreish.
There were breaded, spiced couscous balls - very yummy, but very filling.
Finally, the zingy Summer Salad was the perfect accompaniment to the other plates.
